DAY 7

Today, was a really busy day with lots of small tasks to be done! The whole store was preparing for a huge important visit from the top bosses from the region and for all the UK stores! The store needed to looks is absolute best so we had to tidy up everything and made sure that everything was looking it's best. Today i spent my whole day in the Childrenswear department, the first thing i had to do was re-dress one of the toddle mannequins. I got to decide exactly what it wore as long as it was wearing the popular GAP logo hoodie, i chose to layer it up with a really cute polka dot polo shirt! The mannequin was quite difficult to animate with it been sat down and hard to balance so i managed to get in the pose of sitting on the edge of the shelf. I thought this was a really cute pose and it would catch the eyes of customers in the area.

During the morning we had an evacuation and the whole of the bullring was evacuated! Although it was just a drill it gave a great in-sight on what a store does in an emergency evacuation! It was a really interesting experience seen the whole of the bullring empty and evacuated!

With the other girls, waiting outside the bullring!
When we got back inside i was given another job to unhang products from Baby Gap off a t-bar and fold them on to a table display.

After dinner i worked in the Big Girls department in re-styling and re-animating five mannequins. The mannequins needed to have very bright and eye catching outfits with colour-popping jeans, GAP hoodies and cute matching t-shirts. These need to include some of the bestsellers in the department.

I also helped out with setting up a new wall for a sixties inspired trend for Toddlers. It was a really cute collection with polka dots and stripes. We had to decide where to place the different garments to build outfits and not to make the patterns clash. I was also asked to do two mannequins to match the style of the wall. I used denim jackets on both of the mannequins and then paired one with polka dots and the other with stripes!

Although today was very fast-paced with lots of different tasks to do, i really enjoyed doing lot's of creative tasks such as dressing the mannequins and having free reign over what to dress them in.
